Happy Holidays!

Just finished up this year's events with the annual home party at my sister's house... this was our 5th? 6th? 7th? I can't remember... but it's always a fun evening with lots of laughs and good people. The past two years we've added the fine art of Kim Rhoney and the soy candles and other products from Green Daffodil. It's become our own little art show and it's a fun night to look forward to.

Now it's time to figure out what's next for the new year... more shows? different products? more etsy? ?????  My immediate plan is to get some things up on my etsy site, because I actually have WAY more than what is listed - I'm just short on time to get it all photographed and posted. But stay tuned!

Thank you, Ridge Friends!

I want to thank everyone who came to the Ridge Fine Art and Handmade Wares Show last Saturday - friends that I already know and those I just met. I don't know if it's official, but I heard I got 5th place in the Peoples' Choice votes out of 20+ artists, which is pretty cool. And the best compliment is when an experienced sew-er tells me that I do nice work, which I heard a couple times. So, thank you very much!!! Here's part of my display in case you missed it....

A Colorful Weekend

Here's what I did this weekend... a bunch of wristlet key chains, more zip pouches and even a couple pillows. I love all the colors!

Key Fobs and Pouches

My prep continues for the 14th Annual Ridge Fine Art and Handmade Wares Show. I'm working on some smaller stuff right now, like these colorful wristlet key fobs. I've been using one for years now and I promise you it's much easier to find your keys when they're hanging from one of these.

Also, I've made a bunch of these cute little zipper pouches. These big-mouth bags are perfect for your make-up and other essentials. I'll have plenty of both products to choose from at the show. Think stocking stuffers!

Those who know and sell on etsy I'm sure would agree that a successful shop takes a LOT of attention and upkeep - that's why I've resisted it for so long, after giving it a quick (lame) try several years ago. But then I thought, wait - why does it have to be all or nothing? I still can't devote as much time as I'd like, but that doesn't mean I should do nothing at all. So here we go - I'm back on etsy again! And, I most definitely didn't expect it, but I got a SALE pretty quick! I took that as a sign that it was meant to be that I try again. Shopping the Berkley Art Bash

I decided at the beginning of the year that I would take a little break and not apply to the Berkley Art Bash. Now that the time is here (tomorrow - more details in a minute), I'm still okay with that decision, but I am missing the excitement of being involved in this really fun event. But I do plan to go and it'll be nice to have the time to shop all the cool stuff that's there. Some of the artists I'm looking forward to seeing and shopping are Daisy Chains, Green Daffodil, Mary Pritchard and Courtney Fischer; and then the sidewalk sales at Catching Fireflies, Yellow Door Artists Market and City Style. I'll have to do a little more research and add to my list to make sure I see everyone.

The Bash is Saturday, June 9, from 10-6 on 12 Mile Road in downtown Berkley. See you there.
